Whole chicken

Mix things up by cooking for Christmas dinner rather than turkey or ham. Chicken is healthy and simple to roast in an oven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, rinsed and with innards removed
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon of oregano

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Stuff the chicken’s cavity with the sliced apple and onion. Brush the melted butter over the entire chicken, then season with the oregano. Place the chicken on a greased roasting pan, then bake for 90 minutes, or until the interior temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Serving suggestion

Sprinkle your favorite spices over the chicken to add a personal touch.
