Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 lb bulk sweet Italian sausage, optional
  • 1 lb bulk hot Italian sausage, optional
  • 1 large red onion, diced
  • 2 ribs celery, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 C dry red wine
  • 1 (28 oz) can Italian style diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (28 oz) can tomato sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 C heavy cream

Preparation:

Place a large skillet on medium heat. Heat the oil in it. Add the sausages and cook them for 10 minutes. Add the onion, celery, and garlic then cook them of 8 minutes. Grease a slow cooker. Transfer the sausage mix to it. Stir the wine into the skillet the pour it into the pot. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and salt then combine them completely. Put on did and cook the ragu for 5 h on low. Stir in the cream. Cook the ragu of 1 h on low. Serve it warm.
